Staying Overnight in Ha Tien City

Ha Tien is one of Vietnam’s smaller cities, with a population of around 80,000. It’s also not a major tourist destination in its own right either. Nonetheless, Ha Tien does have facilities for leisure travellers needing to stay overnight.

Major hotel booking websites list around 40 tourist hotels and guesthouses in Ha Tien ranging in price from the equivalent of $10 USD a night to around $50 USD for the city’s most luxurious hotels, such as the Sunrise Hotel Ha Tien. In terms of accommodation, Ha Tien is not as good value for money as some larger Vietnamese cities such as Da Nang and much of the cheaper accommodation is in need of refurbishment.

Ha Tien does have restaurants which cater to leisure travellers, what it doesn’t have is any restaurants which serve ‘international cuisine’ beyond dishes like sandwiches and french fries. Ha Tien’s one long running western style bar and restaurant, the Oasis Bar, has now closed. Two places that are still open and popular with leisure travellers are both waterfront restaurants serving Vietnamese cuisine, Quan Hai San Bo Ke and Cafe Thuy Tien.
