About the Golden Bridge
Ba Na Hills is a small village built at an altitude of 1,500 metres above sea level in the early 20th Century by French colonialists as a holiday village. The altitude makes it 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Da Nang City which is the reason for the establishment of this hill top settlement. Ba Na Hills is famous for its French style buildings. The Golden Bridge was added to the resort, which is now privately run as an amusement park, in 2018 and it serves the purpose of connecting the flower gardens to the rest of the village. To get to the Golden Bridge you need to travel 23 km from Da Nang City to the cable car station at the bottom of the hill. There is no public transport to Ba Na Hills so you need to either hire a vehicle, take a taxi or join a coach tour from Da Nang City. The cost of the cable car to take visitors up to Ba Na Hills is included in the ticket price.

The Golden Bridge quickly captured the attention of foreign media outlets shortly after completion in 2018. The bridge has a dramatic location on a steep slope looking out across the nearby hills. The design of the bridge is equally dramatic. The 150 metre long golden bridge is 5 metres high and held up by two giant stone hands. The hands are symbolic of the Mountain God revered in local folk religions. The hands are also reminiscent of the hands of gods in Roman statues and the hand of God in Renaissance paintings.
