Sapa Bus Station, located to the east of Sapa town centre, is main long distance bus station in Sapa. Sapa Bus Station is the start and finish point for regular public bus services to and from Sapa. The cheapest bus, and most basic, services depart from and arrive at this bus station.
Sapa Bus StationMore expensive and better quality bus services mostly depart from outside tour offices elsewhere in Sapa town. Only a small number of the services operating from Sapa Bus Station itself can be booked online.

Express Bus at Sapa Bus StationThe main bus routes from Sapa Bus Station are between Sapa and Hanoi, Sapa and Ha Giang, Sapa and Yen Bai, and Sapa and Dien Bien Phu. For bus services to Lao Cai, which has the nearest railway station to Sapa town, go to the bus stop in the centre of Sapa town which is near Sapa town square and Sapa Stone Church.

Sapa Bus Station is located in front of Sapa Market.
Facilities at the Bus Station
Sapa Bus Station consists of a car park with lots of buses and minibuses, one row of small buildings and nothing else. Sapa Market is adjacent to the bus station and there are shops and restaurants nearby on the main road if you walk back towards Sapa town.
Minibus at Sapa Bus StationThere are toilets, which you must pay to use, to the left hand side of Sapa Bus Station, to side of the market building. These toilets close at 19:30 which is inconvenient if you are catching a bus later in the evening.
Buy Tickets at the Bus Station
The ticket offices are located in the only buildings in the bus station which are on the left hand side as you enter Sapa Bus Station via the main western entrance.
Ticket Office at Sapa Bus StationThere three separate ticket offices, although only one of the ticket offices appears to ever have anyone working in there. If you want to buy a ticket then ask at the office with someone inside. When we visited the person selling the tickets had reasonably good English language abilities, although the price we paid for our tickets was no different the price we would have paid for a better service on a tour bus.
