About Love Lock Bridge
Love Lock Bridge is a 68 metre long ornamental pier, rather than a bridge. It’s one of several high profile projects which has been undertaken in Da Nang over the last 15 years to promote tourism in the city.
The Bridge
Love Lock Bridge has been designed specifically to provide a scenic spot for visitors to take photographs. The bridge is located between two large bridges on a wide stretch of the Han River, and provide a great vantage point for river views and views of the fire and water show from the nearby Dragon Bridge.

Love Lock Bridge has also been designed to be reminiscent of other well known ‘love’ bridges around the world, the most famous of which being the Pont des Arts in Paris. Like the bridge in Paris, couples leave locked padlocks attached to the railings of the bridge to signify the bond between them. Leaving padlocks at the Pont des Arts is now forbidden, however, it’s encouraged at Love Lock Bridge in Da Nang. Vendors near the entrance to the bridge sell padlocks engraved with the couple’s names for the equivalent of $3 to 6 USD depending on the type of padlock.

Love Lock Bridge attracts a lot of local newly weds, or people doing pre-wedding photographs. Not only are river views fantastic, the bridge also features a series of 5 clusters of red lanterns arranged to make heart shapes. The lanterns are illuminated at night, which can also look in photographs.
DHC Marina
Love Lock Bridge is part of the larger DHC Marina development constructed in 2015. Close to Love Lock Bridge is a 7.5 metre tall statue which is the focal point of DHC Marina. The statue is of a carp transforming into a dragon. In Vietnamese folklore this represents good fortune and the value of persistence in overcoming difficult challenges.

The other features of DHC Marina are it’s restaurants and cafes. Close to Love Lock Bridge is an outdoor seating area for the popular Molly Coffee.

The main venue at DHC Marina is a permanently moored DHC Yacht. The ship has 5 floors and contains a variety of different cafes, bars and restaurants. The open air bar on the top deck is very popular in the evening time because of the riverside views.
The Dragon Bridge
170 metres to the south of Love Lock Bridge is the magnificent Dragon Bridge, and the Love Lock Bridge provides an excellent vantage point of this much larger bridge.

The Dragon Bridge was completed in 2013, 2 years before DHC Marina and very much the reason for its existence.
The bridge is 666 metres long and features a very large statue of a dragon situated in the centre of the road going across the bridge. The dragon statue is illuminated at night by around 15,000 LED lights. During a 15 minute show, that takes place at 21:00 every Saturday and Sunday night, the head of the dragon alternates between shooting out flames and expelling jets of water . This fire and water show is very popular and both Love Lock Bridge and DHC Marina become very crowded on Saturday and Sunday nights as a consequence.
Location of Love Lock Bridge
Love Lock Bridge is located 3.5 km by road from Da Nang Railway Station.
